GRANAMET 2027 International Meeting: Empowering the next generation of researchers in translational metabolism represents the first international edition of a meeting series initiated at the University of Granada, following three previous local editions. The conference aims to provide a structured platform for interaction among researchers working in the field of metabolism, with a particular focus on Early Career Researchers (ECRs).

The meeting brings together scientists at different career stages, with a focus on visibility and active participation for ECRs, including PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and junior principal investigators.

The programme follows a translational perspective, addressing metabolic research from fundamental mechanisms to clinical implications, and promoting exchange between basic and applied research.

A central component of the conference is the organisation of four thematic Early Career Sessions:

• Energy balance regulation.

• Cancer metabolism.

• Metabolic signaling and interorgan communication.

• Neurometabolism.

Each session includes invited contributions from junior principal investigators, together with oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts.

The scientific programme is complemented by:

• An opening lecture focused on the translation of basic metabolic research into innovation.

• 2 keynote lectures.

• 8 invited junior group leaders distributed across the Early Career Sessions.

• 8 oral presentations by Early Career Researchers, selected from submitted abstracts.

• Flash talks and interactive poster sessions, integrated within the programme.

• Scientific workshops by companies, including hands-on and methodological training.

The structure of the conference is designed to ensure active involvement of participants, particularly ECRs, through oral communications, poster presentations, and discussion-based sessions.

In addition to the scientific sessions, the programme includes scheduled networking opportunities and social activities aimed at facilitating interaction among attendees in both formal and informal settings.
